Leftover Train Tracks

Spliss was an inventive electronic duo hailing from Erlangen, Germany, known for blending indie atmospheres with jazz-infused electronic production. The project was a collaboration between indie musician Irini Terzakis and jazz bassist and producer Russell Snyder, each bringing their own influences and skills into a unique, genre-defying soundscape. Irini’s haunting vocal loops and minimalist guitar work paired seamlessly with Russell’s jazz-inspired bass lines and experimental beat-making, creating music that felt both introspective and expansive.

Drawing inspiration from the lush soundscapes of ambient electronica, Spliss’s music was filled with moody textures, layered synths, and expressive saxophone lines. The duo’s compositions were meticulously crafted, embracing both improvisation and electronic production to create a distinctive balance between spontaneity and structure. Despite their creativity and chemistry, Spliss faced challenges when it came to live performance. Their richly layered tracks, complex rhythms, and intricate electronic arrangements were difficult to translate into an engaging live setup, and eventually, the duo decided to disband.
